SYNOPSIS
Set during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and after the An Lushan Rebellion, the Tubo army is attacking Southwest China, leaving the city of Chang’an in danger. Governor Gao Shi is losing the battle. Trapped in the fort, he recalls the sprawling story of his lifelong friendship with Li Bai, one of China’s most famous poets ever.
